RANGE LIFE NO. 4 CONFIRMED

Seafood's David Line and Kevin Hendrick have confirmed details of Range
Life No. 4 due to take place at Bread & Roses, Clapham on Sunday 1st May. The line up will feature The Roman Empire, Lonesome Jonesome and Rubek.

Doors are from 7.30-10.30 and entry is £3 - to reserve a place (first 50
callers) phone the venue 0207 498 1779 or email: rangelife@hotmail.co.uk

The Roman Empire
Based in Leeds, London and Lancaster, The Roman Empire have been invading hearts and minds for the last 2 years, conquering all they find with three acoustic guitars and vocals. Their country/blues/alternative songs cover such diverse and important topics from pies and zombies to tattoos and cavemen. This and way more from their brand new debut album, 'Sitting on a Goldmine'.

Lonesome Jonesome
Aka Chris Jones, 19 years old, one man and an acoustic guitar. Out of Birmingham, out of our world. Defiantly unique, his self financed LP 'Lonesome Jonesome' says it all, says it beautiful. "Songwriting ability that would make Leonard Cohen weep. This record is a work of genius." Tasty Fanzine

Rubek
The alter ego of Byrne guitarist Matt Burke. His debut EP is a west coast-country-soul-review that's set up shop in Brixton for a long, hot summer. Matt also hosts Brixton's 'Songs of Praise' likeminded South London underground guitar Sunday nighters.

DECONSTRUCTION TOUR 29TH APRIL - 15TH MAY

1999 was an exciting year in the world of punk, as Europe's equivalent to the Warped Tour was born, and here rose a chance for upcoming and everyone's favourite punk bands to show Europe what they can do and to take their sounds on tour together. Now in it's 6th year, Deconstruction is back with more, and has gone from strength to strength judging by this years line up! Deconstruction, like the genre, holds no bars, and spans the full length of punk's plethora of sub-genres, and this year is no exception. First up is Fat wrecks Only Crime, and we're talking straight up hardcore, personal politics, and instruments ready to explode. They are joined by the melodic punk and emotion of California's Strung Out who ooze more creativity than an art gallery opening, and Southeasters Smoke or Fire, with their gritty post hardcore.
If hardcore or emotional isn't your thing, then how about the sing along punk pop hardcore of California quintet Lagwagon, or the unmissable Smoke or Fire. Finally, to provide a little ska-tinged punk with tonnes of brass, are California's excellent Mad Caddies, try and stop yourself bouncing around to this little lot!
The Deconstruction tour also features Strung Out, the political hardcore-fuelled Boysetsfire and more Emo-punk with From Autumn to Ashes for your punk ears to adore. That's not to mention the wonderful Capdown, and no-one can argue that there are some of the best names in punk to be heard.

If that is not enough, two cultures that go hand in hand, and one which is an important part of punk culture, once again this year some professional skateboarders and bikers will be showing you their tricks and wowing your eyes, as well as the musicians your ears.

The skaters are Pete King, Ali Cairns, Dave Allen, and Jocke Olsson
and the BMXers: Zach Shaw, Sebastian Keep, Matt Fairburn, and Simon Tabron

Full tour dates and bands are as follows:

VACUOUS POP: ELECTRONICA RELEASES

Oxford's Vacuous Pop have announced releases from Xahdrez & randomNumber. Both are due to hit the shops in early May, however you can now purchase both EPs through the label's website - www.vacuouspop.com

The first is the long awaited 'The Second Half of Nothing' EP from Xahdrez,
otherwise known as Nick Wilsdon, one time member of The Broken Family Band
and Too Many Zeros. The five track release is a "mixture of discrete electronica and laptop glitch" and is only available on 10" vinyl which
includes an exercise in vinyl art - a minimalist piece that was carefully
crafted to etch a design onto the record itself.

The second release is 'EP charge' from randomNumber, the solo electronic
project of musician Matt Robson, one of the UK's most captivating electronic
artists who has previous released records on both Rocket Racer and Rock
Action. The five track EP is available on limited 10" vinyl (500) or limited
CD (500) and is "crackling scattershot beats, and Warp-style metallic
soundsnips which spark and flow around a core of melancholic melodies."
